There’s no alt code for peace symbol! So copy and paste ok?!
Technically, that would seem like the logical thing to do, IF there were an actual peace sign to copy and paste.

It might be something to do with your ‘character encoding’ (which characters your browser is using). If you’re using Firefox click on ‘View’ (at the top of the window) then ‘Character Encoding’ then make sure it is set to ‘UTF-8′. Hope this helps!
No, I can’t see it :( all I get is a box/square. I checked my character encoding and it is set properly – Thank you for your help – I do really appreciate the time – and hopefully I’ll be able to figure it out. If you have any other thoughts as to what the problem may be I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks again.
What browser are you using? And what operating system? I use IE7 at work, and some of the characters don’t work in that…but at home I use Vista and Firefox/Chrome/IE8 and they work fine. Check that out.
I use XP, IE7. That must be why. Thank you for your help :)

I use firefox and have XP and my setting is at Unicode (UTF-8)
and i only get a square no peace sign…have any ideas?

Brittany, you need to use a different browser (like Firefox or Google Chrome). The browser (internet software) that you’re using right now is too old to view the characters.

you know what? I can see the little peace sign here on this page,
and I hightlight, Copy..and when I go to paste it, it comes out a little box ( except on this page, see?..☮ )
And yes, I do have things set like you suggested, but for some reason, it wont even paste it..obviously it does work otherwise you wouldnt have been able to show it here on your page. Would you have any more ideas? I know this Peace symbol thing has been a royal pain, you probably want to smash the living daylights out of it…lol

Mau! I feel sorry for you! I think it might depend on where you are pasting it…it might even depend on which program you’re using (MSN, websites, YIM etc). Where exactly are ya tryin to put it?
i use windows xp, google chrome…..and the encoding is automatically set to ‘Unicode (UTF-8)’.
yet, all i see is that box everywhere. even when i copied it to facebook, orkut, yahoo messenger, etc.

Hi, I have a mac… i can see the peace sign and i can also copy paste it into my facebook status, but i have seen other people with it as their display name but when i paste it says it has invalid characters, is there an alt code to type in to avoid that or what? HELP PLEASE :)
